Thankful Holiday

It may not be a Plymouth Rock feast
But friends near and far come to eat
Thank you for food on my plate
Forgive me for all my complaints

I don’t know why we need a holiday
To bow our heads down to say
For all my blessings I thank you
But I am thankful that we do

Outside cold with howling winds
Winter’s warning it’s an early begin
But inside thankful for the warm fire
A place to rest our heads when tired

I don’t know why we need a holiday
To bow our heads down to say
For all my blessings thank you
But I am thankful that we do

Giving thanks for clothes to wear
A country can speak without fear
Thankful that the holiday grows near
But it need not be just once a year

For all my friends and family
Their continued love and loyalty
Good health in body and mind so grateful
To be vigorous, truly I am thankful

I don’t know why we need a holiday
To bow our heads down to say
For all my blessings, blessings thank you
But I am thankful that we do
But I am thankful
Thankful that we do
