The Miracle That Made My Heart Whole (lyrics)

The Miracle That Made My Heart Whole

Verse 1
My father as he held me as a baby
He said to me son
You need have  no worry of any harm
As he fed me and burped me
Sang and rocked me to sleep
Back and forth  in his arm
Soon you will be crawling around
I ‘ll help you get up and walk
Be around when you want to talk
For now to grow up need to eat
Kissed me on my forehead
Comforting pain from getting new teeth

Chorus:
You were wanted more than you could  ever know
Life went fast your dad got old
Mom never to have children she was told
Dad whispered you are the miracle
That made my heart whole

Verse 2
My father came to me at thirteen
He said to me son
You are about to become a man
I am going to come clean
Hormones are raging wild
These things are difficult to understand
Girls that you hated having around
Pulling ponytails and pranks
Same girls now will be taking out on dates
Well , your are just no longer a child
Took a puff on his cigarette
Shook his head and gave me a smile

Chorus
You were wanted more than you could  ever know
Life went fast your dad got old
Mom never to have kids  she was told
Dad whispered you are the miracle
That made my heart whole

Verse 3

My father  now lies mostly in his bed
Beckons to me to come close
You married have a great wife
Blessed me with grand kids
Have a great job with good pay
You have a good and blessed  life

Chorus 3
You were wanted more than you could  ever know
Life went fast your dad got old
Mom never to have kids she was told
Dad whispered you are the miracle
That made my heart whole

Bridge:
My father and mother God bless their soul
I think of words at the service to say
Father again comforts and protects me from pain
As I give the eulogy remember being told

Chorus :
You were wanted more than you could  ever know
Life went fast your dad got old
Mom never to have children she was told
Dad whispered you are the miracle
That made my heart whole

Dad whispered you are the miracle
That made my heart whole
